My name is Sara Finnegan-Doyon, and I am delighted to join the DCIS community this year as an American and World Lit teacher. Teaching is my passion; there is nothing I love more than working with students to explore the magic of reading and writing while connecting it with the greater truths of the human experience.
I started my teaching career at Denver School of the Arts, where I co-chaired the Creative Writing Department. In 2011, I left DSA to teach 4th grade at an international school in Bali, Indonesia. The two years I spent there were magical and provided the opportunity for me to fall in love with SUP (both flat water and catching waves), mountain biking, cross-cultural communication, snorkeling and spending time on boats. In 2013 I moved to Durango, CO where I taught 10th Grade Humanities at a charter school. It is lovely to be back in my hometown biking, checking out coffee shops, snowboarding and planning my next journey into the outdoors or abroad. I look forward to a great year!
